Bayfront Westcott House Bed and Breakfast
is proud to support The Children’s
Miracle Network (founded by Marie Osmond and her family, John Schneider,
Mick Shannon, and Joe Lake). The organization has grown from a televised
fundraiser in a small studio in 1983 into an international nonprofit organization that generates billions of dollars
each year for medical research and community awareness of children's health
issues.
The goals were simple--help as many children as possible
by raising funds for children’s hospitals and keep the funds in the community
in which they were raised to help local children. And help the kids they have. As of 2011, Children’s Miracle Network
Hospitals raised more than $4.3 billion—most of which was donated a dollar
or two at a time.

For those of you hesitant to make
charitable donations, especially in light of all the hype surrounding recent celebrity-related
scandals, it is indeed important to be aware of the reputation of any charity to
which you are considering making a donation. The BBB Wise Giving Alliance helps
donors make informed giving decisions and advances high standards of conduct
among organizations that solicit contributions from the public. Coincidentally,
the BBB gives Children’s Miracle Network
Hospitals a 4-star rating (4 being the highest), with 89.1% of their
revenue going to program expenses.
